The review process

We recommend that you apply for the relevant approvals for your project across all review bodies in parallel.

It is not necessary to wait for ethical approval before contacting research sites, and doing these activities sequentially will delay the start-up of your project. The right training for you and your research team will help you to deliver your project efficiently and effectively.

Each part of the review system considers different aspects of your study, and the review will be tailored to the nature of your study. The information in this section will help you to understand what each review body will be considering and how to navigate the review process. Please use the menu on the left to see the pages in this section.

The next section explains what to do once your project has been approved.
