We want your feedback on the new HRA website
Published on 5 October 2017
We’re improving the HRA website to make it easier to navigate and find information. It’s a work in progress – beta stage.
We hope to launch soon, so we’ve launched the preview site now so you can tell us what you think.
We’d like to say a big thank you to the many people that we’ve spoken to and gathered views from. Everything from the site’s navigation to its layout and design has been guided by what you have been telling us works for you.
Visiting the beta site you’ll see a number of changes and improvements.
The website’s navigation has changed completely and now content can be found within three clearly defined categories:
- Approvals and amendments: gives you an overview of HRA Approval and study set-up and conduct, pointing you where needed to the IRAS site for detailed application guidance.
- Planning and improving research: the key to a successful project is planning, and this section describes the things you can do before applying to give your application the best chance of quickly gaining approval – saving you time and effort. There’s also a ‘best practice’ area where you can find background material on topics such as consent and patient involvement. It also contains information on the legal and other frameworks for UK research.
- About us: is where you’ll find the key corporate information about the HRA: who we are and what we do, details about our various committees and services, partnerships, as well as the latest news and updates
The detailed guidance relating to all approvals UK-wide is now in the Help section of the Integrated Research Application System (IRAS) site. You’ve told us you would prefer this there to save skipping between sites when completing your application.
A brand new design and layout and a consistent style will make navigating the site and finding what you want easier and more intuitive.
We’re really pleased with our progress so far but there’s still room for improvement. Have a look, and tell us what you think. Can you find everything you need? Is there anything missing that would make your life easier?
We’ll be keeping a close eye on how it’s working before we switch the old site off in the next few weeks. Make sure you familiarise yourself with the new website before then.
